DeLille 2006 D2 Yakima Valley red blend

It's my birthday today, so I treated myself to a nice Washington red wine. The DeLille D2 2006 Bordeaux style blend is in fact a very nice Washington red. Award winning, double gold medal it was just an intensely flavorful wine, lots of fruit, but also some of the earthy components I love in reds, pencil lead, cedar box, and some chocolate to boot. The red fruit is clearly there. Medium to full body. Deep color, red, Great balance front to back, and a little acidity that's terrific. Low $40 range makes it a good buy for what it is. It's 52.5% Merlot, 38.5% Cabernet Sauvignon,7% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, a nice blend.
